Spa, Belgium – June 8, 2025
This weekend, the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team/KM99 took on the second round of the FIM Endurance World Championship at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit. As the team’s home race, it was an important milestone for the Belgian squad, supported by a large crowd of enthusiastic fans — despite the typically Ardennes-style weather which made for particularly demanding race conditions.

From the very first sessions, marked by rain and constantly changing grip levels, the team focused on adjusting the setup of the Yamaha #99 for wet conditions, anticipating similar weather for the race.
Qualifying took place on a dry track, where the team posted a solid 8th fastest time, a respectable grid position for an 8-hour race, despite a slight disadvantage in dry conditions compared to factory teams.
Jérémy Guarnoni took the start on a drying but still tricky track. The early stages of the race were managed carefully, with the #99 battling in the top 10, as the riders aimed to avoid mistakes ahead of forecasted heavy showers. Unfortunately, a technical failure during the second stint led to a fuel outage, forcing Florian Marino to stop on track. This incident cost the team five laps and dropped them back to P30.

Despite this early challenge, the squad never gave up. Thanks to faultless strategy, unwavering determination from the riders (Guarnoni, Marino, and De Puniet), and excellent work from the mechanics, the team steadily climbed back through the field, even as the track conditions constantly fluctuated between dry and wet.
By mid-race, the Yamaha #99 had recovered to P19, and the comeback continued.
At the checkered flag, the team secured a 12th-place overall finish and 9th in the EWC category, earning 12 valuable championship points. At the halfway point of the season, Elf Marc VDS/KM99 now sits 9th in the standings.

Next stop: the legendary Suzuka 8 Hours in early August, followed by the Bol d’Or in September. The team is already preparing for the next challenge with upcoming testing sessions in Japan.
Elf Marc VDS Racing Team/KM99 warmly thanks all the fans who came out in force at Spa, as well as our partners for their continued support.
